Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider collects your name, email address, and login credentials or third-party sign-in identifiers.
• Resume profile. The personal details you enter in the builder — name, contact details, LinkedIn URL, work history (company, location, dates), and education — are saved to your account so they follow you across devices.
• Generated content & applications. The resumes and cover letters we generate, their ATS scores, and the job descriptions you paste when generating are stored as “applications” in your dashboard so you can track and revisit them.
• Uploaded and pasted resumes. When you upload a PDF or Word file (in the builder or the free ATS checker) or paste resume text, we extract the text to parse or score it. Files themselves are not stored. Text submitted to the free ATS checker is processed to compute a score and is not stored on our servers; if you choose to continue into the builder, that resume is passed along through your browser’s local storage.
• Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card details; we store only your subscription status and identifiers needed for billing.
• Usage & device signals. To enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse, we store your IP address and a device fingerprint, along with basic generation usage counts.

• To provide the service: generate, improve, score, store, and let you download your resumes and cover letters.
• To process the content you submit through our AI provider so we can produce tailored output.
• To manage your account, free-tier usage, and subscription billing.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• To maintain and improve the reliability and quality of the service.

To generate and improve resumes and cover letters, the inputs you provide — including your resume details, uploaded or pasted resume text, and any job description — are sent to our third-party AI provider for processing. We send only what is needed to produce your output. AI-generated content is produced automatically and may contain inaccuracies (see our Terms of Service).

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with providers that help us operate the service, under their respective terms:

• An authentication and account management provider.
• A payment processor for subscriptions.
• A managed database hosting provider.
• An application hosting and content delivery provider.
• An AI provider that generates resume and cover letter content.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

We keep your account data, profile, and saved applications for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual applications at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Some records may be retained as required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

• Edit or clear your details. You can update your saved profile at any time, or use “Clear saved info” in the builder to remove it from the current device.
• Delete your applications. Any saved resume or tracked application can be deleted from your dashboard.
• Delete your account. Email us at support@ethereal.glass to request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Access or export. Contact us to request a copy of the personal data associated with your account.
• Skip the AI checker. If you prefer not to have resume text processed by our AI provider, simply don’t submit it.

We use cookies set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in. We use your browser’s local storage for preferences (such as theme) and to temporarily carry a resume between the ATS checker and the builder. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We rely on reputable providers and reasonable technical measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

ResuBuild is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
